I love my new iPhone…let me count the ways? Truly, after months of waiting for my Verizon contract to end because I’m too cheap to pay the early cancellation fee, I finally bit the bullet and got an iPhone…not only for me….but Brenda got one as well.
I love the way all my email/contacts/& calendar automatically updates on the iPhone without having to sync. That’s awesome.
Why do you love your phone?
I’m really getting frustrated with some of the discussion & talk about the financial situation our country is in and who is to blame and what we’re doing to solve it. As I stated in an earlier post….I agree with Dave Ramsey that we can easily get out of this mess by making a few basic adjustments and give the people an option to get out. Now today….the most powerful person in the world (arguably) Oprah Winfrey brought Ali from CNN on her show to try and explaining what happened. Now, I’m sure he’s right with his facts…but what we’re all missing here is who is ideally responsible for getting us here. We each need to take personal responsibility for the decisions and choices we make. Here is what Ali said….Annie wanted to buy a house….she borrowed from the bank….they sold her loan to a bigger bank…..and they sold it to a bigger entity. Typically this is OK….but when values of homes go down, people loose their jobs and the stock market crashes all at the same time….we have a problem. Now poor Annie can’t pay for the expensive house that she probably shouldn’t have bought in the first place and her home gets foreclosed on. Now the bank owns the home and their not in the business of taking care of empty homes. Now, some are blaming the banks and they do hold responsibility for making loans when they shouldn’t have. But it all comes down to personal responsibility. WE can all qualify for more credit then we should….we need to have the self discipline to only take credit for and buy only what we can afford. The “American Dream” is coming back to bite many people these days. I think more than the banks, wall street, and politicians…..Annie is to blame. Annie shouldn’t be using so much credit. She should do her best to live within her means. I personally spent over half of my adult life with consumer debt. Not until Brenda & I decided to take personal responsibility for our spending and get control of it were we able to get out of debt. The solution for our countries financial situation is for all of us to stop using credit to live and live within our own personal means. Now, in full disclosure…I do have a mortgage on my home. I don’t mean that we can’t buy a house until we pay cash…I mean our own consumer debt. Putting things on credit when we really should be waiting to buy it.
What do you think?
Went to the 12:01 AM showing of Batman tonight with my son Drew. We really had a great time. The show was packed with all the raging Batman fans. I think it’s more fun to attend a movie like this that’s packed with raving fans. You get the full feel of the excitement and hysteria. Great flick. Good action…great fighting. Story was OK. Didn’t really like the gal in the movie. Wasn’t believable enough for me. I liked many of the twists that it took. Batman dealing with people posing as him. The BatBike was very very cool. Truly the stand out is going to be Heath Ledger and his portrayal as the joker. Total bummer that Heath didn’t live to see the value and stirring of his performance. He really did an outstanding and believable job. I could see him winning awards for this performance. I liked it when the Joke said to Batman, “You complete me”. Cute nod to Jerry McGuire. Also, the whole night was worth the 30 second teaser trailer that they showed right before the movie. New Terminator movie (staring Christian Bale) coming out next summer.
Give me a review of the latest movie you saw (at a theater).
Today I was meeting with this gal and we were talking about design stuff and other cool things. As I was finishing up my cup of coffee…it seemed to go down the wrong pipe and I started to cough. Now, the initial cough simply brought up the coffee contents and lodged it in my inflated cheeks (like a trombone player). At the same time, I couldn’t help it….but a small portion of coffee spewed out of my mouth and all over my desk. This caused some laughter from me along with the coughing and 3 more sprays (like out of a Windex bottle) covered the front of my shirt, my desk, computer and the rest of my office. Natalie instantly thought I was going into cardiac arrest, but I assured her that I was OK…just a little embarrassed. 23 tissues later…the coffee was cleaned up and we were still laughing. Now…here’s the real test of the coffee lover that I am. There was still an inch of coffee left in my cup… Yes I did! I went back to the well and finished the cup. If you’re still wondering what a “spit take” is…click below and view the video instructions. It’s creepy with 2 guys standing in a bath tub…but very clear on what a “spit take” is.
What did you do today that totally embarrassed you?
This Guy introduced me to this guy who had the video below on his blog. I’m inspired to start working out immediately.
Nothing like following your passion in life.
What are you that passionate about?
I love it when people use the term circa…
Def: Circa…In approximately, about. From the Latin word for “about” and often abbreviated as “c.” For example, “c. 1900” means “around the year 1900.”
So…I would say….”that was popular around the time I was born…circa 1967″.
Click here and use the word Circa in a sentance…
Thanks Natalie for the inspiration.

Congrats to Dale Earnhardt Jr. He finally wins again after a drout in the winners circle. He’s got a new number, sponsor, & team….and he’s winning. Yea, I’m a Jr. fan. He’s a great guy and a great driver. I didn’t get to watch the race until TIVO last night. Just as good…even better as I ff through the commercials. The race came down to gas mileage and strategy. That’s why I love the sport. It’s so much more than just driving around in circles. Go Jr.
Also, Tiger did pretty well on Sunday.
Who are you rooting for today?
I am the kind of person who is all for taking any song that will compliment the message of Jesus Christ and make it part of the service so people will connect and move forward on their journey toward Christ. I’m even cool with youth groups doing really cute/funny stuff to make people laugh and make a point. Tonight as I was reading one of my favorite blogs by Prodigal Jon called Stuff Christians Like I was enlightened by what could be done with Justin Timberlakes song, “Sexy Back”. Side note: Prodigal Jon is a great writer. Read some of his stuff……OK….click here to view the video.
Is this creative chaos or bad taste?
